Meet Boots, Our First Transfer!
At Feline Rescue Network, every rescue has a story, and every cat holds a special place in our hearts. Today, we are beyond thrilled to introduce a very special gentleman: Boots, our first transfer from the Humane Society of Fremont County! Through our Canon City partnership, we are opening up new pathways to safety and love for cats from the Fremont County area, and Boots is leading the charge as our inaugural ambassador.
A Sweet, Mellow Senior Looking for Love
Boots is an absolute darling—an 11-year-old senior boy with a heart of gold and a famously mellow demeanor. If you are looking for a companion who brings instant calm, comfort, and warmth to a room, Boots is your guy.
Like many senior cats finding themselves in rescue, Boots’s story is bittersweet. He recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of his beloved pet parent—the only human he had ever known, and the person he shared his entire life with. Coming into a shelter environment after a lifetime in a quiet, devoted home can be overwhelming for any cat, especially a senior. Fortunately, Boots’s story didn’t stay scary for long. Thanks to our partnership with the Humane Society of Fremont County, Boots made the journey to our network, where he transitioned smoothly into a cozy foster home.
Senior cats like Boots have so much love left to give. They come fully equipped with house manners, a settled personality, and an immense capacity for gratitude. Adopting a senior cat is a uniquely rewarding experience; you are offering a dignified, peaceful haven where they can spend their next chapter feeling safe, cherished, and secure.
If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet 11-year-old senior who deserves the absolute best retirement years, we want to hear from you! Click here to apply to adopt Boots.
